Nutrition for Athletes

Supports the Body During Sports

A proper and complete diet is essential for anyone who participates in sports, whether at a recreational or competitive level. Below are some simple rules to get the most out of your body.

Step 1

Start with the Basics

The foundation of every person's health rests on their diet. Indeed, diet is the only way we can provide the body with the nutrients it needs. The best starting point is a low-fat diet that contains an appropriate amount of essential fatty acids, high-quality proteins, fruits and vegetables, and sufficient carbohydrates. It is also important to ensure our body receives a constant supply of fluids.

Step 2

Strengthen the Foundation of Our Nutrition

Regardless of the level at which a sporting activity is performed, the importance of a solid nutritional foundation cannot be overestimated. Even if an athlete doesn't want to worry about what they eat, they should at least ensure they don't have any nutritional deficiencies. To address this need, it's best to rely on a daily multivitamin and multimineral supplementation program.

Step 3

Focus on the Specific Needs of Athletes

Since athletes expend more energy and oxygen, their metabolism also generates more waste. Sports activity exposes them to potentially harmful elements, some of which are present in the training environment. All of this requires specific supplementation of certain nutrients.

Protein: to build, repair, and maintain muscles

Muscles need protein! This isn't an original idea, but studies continue to support it. An athlete's performance is often due to better structured, stronger, and more powerful muscles. Dietary protein intake, particularly the amino acids needed to synthesize it, is crucial for the growth and maintenance of healthy muscle tissue.

This is a guideline, which should be adjusted based on an athlete's specific nutritional needs. It's understood that the primary energy source will be carbohydrates
